What is the Nutritional Content of Black Seed Oil?

QUESTION?  What is the nutritional content of black seed oil?

DR. FITT:  The conventional nutrition facts label tells you nothing about the ingredients in nutritionals like black seed that will affect your health. Those labels reflect things such as sodium, potassium, sugar, protein and fat. Some list recommended daily allowances (RDA’s) of a few vitamins/minerals.
What you’re really interested in with products like black seed oil are phytochemicals such as polyphenols, terpenoids, carotenoids, sterols, etc. That list was pages long when I had an independent lab fingerprint our black seed oil. Not logistically feasible or intellectually functional to put actionable phytochemicals on bottle labels. However, we will add this paper to the www.Drfittinfo.com site. If you’re an infomaniac like me, a good exercise is to look up “health benefits” of each phytochemical. I was surprised to find an anti-helminth (worm/parasite killer) in the contents.

Here’s the Chemical investigation of Nigella sativa L. seed oil produced in Morocco.  http://www.sciencedirect.com/…/article/pii/S1658077X13000507
